Alexander J. Brostek, 71, of Palm City, Florida, passed away on October 19, 2018 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart, Florida.
Born in Oswego, New York, he had been a resident of Palm City for 20 years coming from St. Augustine, Florida.
During the Vietnam War he served as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army. After leaving the Army he attended Embry Riddle University for three years then pursued a professional pilot career for 48 years. Alex for the most of his life he did two things he loved most; flying and being with his family.
Before retiring he was a pilot for South Florida Water Management for 18 years, retiring as Chief Pilot.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Brenda J. Brostek and his sons, John A. Brostek and his wife Shalene of Okeechobee, FL and Kevin A. Brostek and his wife Nicole of Stuart.
The family request instead of flowers please donate to your favorite charity or preservation of the EverGlades National Park of Florida.
