Obituary of Alfred Powers

Alfred Walter Powers, 81, precious husband and proud father passed away Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Treasure Coast Hospices in Stuart.

Born June 27, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio, he moved to Palm Cityin June 2007 from Cocoa Beach, FL.

He was formerly a National Airlines mechanic; Pan American Airways Engineer and NASA Space Shuttle consultant.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and served as a tank mechanic.

He was Catholic and a former member of Our Savior Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach and a graduate of University of Miami.

Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Josephine Powers of Palm City; sons, Fred Anthony Powers of Vero Beach; daughter, Lynn Dixon of Palm City; grandchildren, Destin, Liza, Madeleine, Jonathan; and sisters, Lucy Zahuranec and Dolores Kondik, both of Cleveland, OH.

Memorial remembrances may be made to Treasure Coast Hospices, 1201 SE Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 PM, Monday, February 4, 2008 at Church of the Little Flower, 2711 Indian Mound Trail, Coral Gables, FL. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery in Doral.
