Obituary of Aloysius Bischof
Aloysius "Al" Bischof, 87, of Stuart, FL, faithful husband, father, and servant of God, died on February 1, 2011. A native of West New York, NJ Al lived in Guttenburg, Union city, and Palisades Park, NJ and Hicksville, NY, before moving to Stuart in 1969, where he lived for 42 years.
Al worked for Grumman Aerospace Corp. in Bethpage, NY for 15 years, then in Stuart, FL until he retired in 1988. He was a tool and machined parts inspector.
Al was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Stuart, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, visiting and bringing Communion to the sick in homes and hospitals. He was also a sacristan and altar server his entire life. Al was a charter member and Past Grand Knight of Martin Council #6241 of the Knights of Columbus in Stuart and a charter member of Father McGivney Assembly #1764 of the Knights of Columbus, also in Stuart. He was a bingo worker at St. Joseph's for many years and at the K of C since it's inception.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Anna Dionisio Bischof; two daughters, Mary Bischof of Stuart and Georgette Romito and her husband Anthony of Hudson, OH. Survivors also include five grandchildren; Mary Renee, Felicia Marie, Teresa Marie, Anne Marie, and Anthony John Jr. all of Hudson, OH; one brother, Karl T. Bischof of Palisades Park, NJ; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation: 5 - 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 3, 2011 and 5 - 7:00PM, Friday, February 4, 2011 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel, with a prayer and rosary service at 6:30PM Friday.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00AM, Saturday, February 5, 2011 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Stuart.
Interment: Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, following the service.
