Obituary of Alpha Mathis
Alpha Dan Mathis, 66, of Stuart, passed away February 6, 2007. He was born March 20, 1940 in Pahokee. He had been a produce broker for 45 years before retiring in 2005 from A. Duda & Sons, Belle Glade. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Hobe Sound. And active in their music program.
He was preceded in death by his brother Jimmy Mathis.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Terry Mathis of Stuart; sons, Wesley Mathis of Labelle and Jason Mathis of Indiantown; daughters, Michele Mathis of Stuart and Holly Tartaglia of Palm City; a sister, Audrey Spikes of Gainesville, TX, and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5:00 8:00 PM Friday at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City.
Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Grace Place in Stuart.
Burial will take place in Black City Cemetery, Black, Alabama.
