Obituary of Alvin Silverman

Alvin Silverman of Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the St. Lucie Medical Center, Port St. Lucie.

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he had been a resident of the Treasure Coast for 33 years coming from Lighthouse Point, Florida.

During World War II he served U.S. Army Signal Corp in the Pacific Theatre.

Prior to retiring he was the owner/operator of Evergreen Builders in Broward County. Before he moved to Florida he had been a butcher in Minneapolis.

He was of the Jewish Faith. He had been a member of the Coconut Point Yacht Club, the Macintosh Computer Club and was Past Honorary Chairman of the Florida Shore and Beach Reservation Association.

Survivors include his wife, Kitty Bucek of Port St. Lucie; sons, Randy Silverman of Salt Lake City, UT, Robert Ivan "John" Silverman of Burnsville, NC, Richard "Rick" Silverman of Portland, OR and Kenny Bucek of Port St. Lucie; daughters, Ronni Smekal of Manhattan Beach, CA and Sherry Bucek of Cleveland, GA; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

SERVICES: Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City, FL. Entombment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City FL with military honors provided by the U.S. Army.
