Obituary of Amelio Miura

Amelio C. "Cal" Miura, 86, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, died May 9, 2011at his home.

Born in Bronx, New York, he had lived in Port St. Lucie for 21 years, coming from Brentwood, New York.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Morningside Church, Port St. Lucie, where he was a member of the Prime Timers and the bible studies group. He had been a member of the Lion's Club in New York.

Before retiring he was a building inspector for the Town of Islip, New York.

Survivors include sons Howard Miura of Richland, Washington, Raymond Miura of Bronx, New York and Stephen Cortes of Port St. Lucie; daughters, Carolyn Torres of Port St. Lucie and Sonia Walters of Macon Georgia; seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Maria Victoria Miura and a son Robert Edward Miura.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on May 12, 2011 at Forest Hills Funeral Home - Palm City Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on May 13, 2011at the Morningside Church. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery, Jensen Beach, Florida with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy.
