Obituary of Amma Dewey
Amma Lois Hollis Dewey, 77, passed into eternity Friday , April 4, 2008 at Clair Bridge Cottage in Vero Beach.
She was born July 8, 1930 in Social Circle, Georgia, one of five children born of Edwy Lovic Hollis and Irma Rau Hollis. She married Ralph K. Dewey, April 10, 1948 and they lovingly raised 5 children. They moved back to Florida in 1989 from Connecticut.
She retired from Hamilton Standard, where she was active as a Shop Steward for the International Association of Machinists.
She was predeceased by her husband Ralph in 2000, and survived by her children Margo Dewey of Palm Coast, FL, George Dewey of Houghton, MI, Shirley Martin of Buffalo, SC, Steve Dewey of Palm Coast, FL, and Selena Dewey of Stuart. FL, six grand children, and six great grandchildren. She is also predeceased by her sister Lillian and survived by her three brothers Edwy, Martin, and Ralph Hollis of GA.
A celebration of Ammas life will take place 2 PM to 4 PM, April 12 at Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City Florida.
Memorial contributions in her name can be made to Alzheimers Association or VNA/Hospice Foundation 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach FL 32960.
