Angelo L. "Gus" Menegus, 86, passed away peacefully at home in Palm City, FL, June 12, 2016 after a brief illness with cancer. Born in Bristol, CT, he is survived by his wife of 54 years Frances (Valla), daughter Kara Rizzo, son-in-law Tom and grandson John McInally of Phoenixville, PA, sister Rita Bayette, step-grandchildren Kathryn and Zachary Rizzo, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by infant daughter Gianna, parents Bartolo and Anastasia, sister Catherine Persechino, Mary Amrich and brother Joseph. Angelo served 4 years in the United States Navy, honorably discharged in 1952 as a 1st Class Petty Officer in Training Devices Aviation. After attending 5 semesters at University of Connecticut in Waterbury, Angelo was employed for 2 years by American Cyanamid followed by a 33-year career at IBM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997. There will be a celebration gathering for family and friends at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City, from 2-4 PM, Saturday, June 18.
