Obituary of Ann Jones

Ann D. Jones, 75, of Stuart, FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Treasure Coast Hospice Harper House in Stuart.

Ann was born on August 8, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of Rear Admiral Carl and Mary Drescher. Ann was a graduate of Holten-Arms College in Washington, DC.

Ann volunteered her time and abundant talents to many charitable organizations throughout her life. During her career, she served for 16 years as the Volunteer Coordinator and Fund Development Director at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart. She was a Board Member for Mary's Shelter and was the founder and General Manager of Mary's Shelter Thrift Store in Stuart.

Ann was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart and served as the Chairperson for the Pastoral Council for 8 years.

Ann embraced life with her outgoing, energetic and bubbly personality. She was the model example of a strong, devoted Christian wife and mother. She taught many around her to be loving, joyful and show graciousness in all circumstances.

Survivors include her children, Carlton Jones and his wife, Georgia of Lake City, FL, Scott Jones of Palm City, FL, Amy Jones of Jensen Beach, FL and Stephen Jones and his wife, Amelia of Venice, FL; a brother, Gerry Drescher and his wife, Jean of Stuart, FL and twelve grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, RK Jones in 2012.

SERVICES: Friends and family will be received at a memorial gathering at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City, FL on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Stuart. Inurnment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
