Obituary of Ann Scirto

Ann M. Scirto, born Oct.12th 1926, of Lockport N.Y. Port St. Lucie FL. and Largo FL. passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on Thursday April 10th 2014 with hospice at the home of her loving daughter Catherine Streckewald in Bonifay FL. She was the daughter of the late Mary and Dominic Minunni and came to the United States and Ellis Island with her mother at the age of 3 from Bari Italy. She graduated from Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing Buffalo N.Y. 1947 as an R.N. and spent many years working in her profession as a nurse at Lockport Memorial Hospital and as a supervisor at the County Nursing Home. Later on she became office manager at her husband John's insurance agency, State Farm, on Transit Rd. Lockport, N.Y. Ann is survived by her two daughters, Ann Marie Rotella of Land O Lakes FL. and Catherine Streckewald of Bonifay FL. four grandchildren, Kimberlie(Thomas) Marko of Bethlehem P.A. Bryan(Amy) Rotella of Tampa FL. and Kevin and Daniel Streckewald of Philadelphia P.A. Also three great grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew and Allyssa Marko of Bethlehem P.A. one sister, Palma(Napoleone) Platt of Lockport N.Y. and a brother, Anthony Minunni of Port St. Lucie FL. Also a sister in law, Marilyn Minunni of Lockport N.Y. as well as several nieces and nephews and dear friends Roger, Sandy and Randy. Ann was predeceased by her husband and companion of 50yrs. John Paul Scirto, three brothers, Vito, Frank and Joseph Minnuni, a sister, Ava Minunni, a son in law, Thomas Streckewald, a sister in law, Marie Minunni and brother's in law, Louis Napoleone and David Platt. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the Forest Hills Funeral Home, 2001 SW Murphy Road, Palm City, FL. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow immediately in the Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
