Obituary for Anna Mae Malizia

Anna Mae Malizia, 92, of Palm City, FL, passed peacefully in her home on April 29, 2020.  Anna Mae was born December 30, 1927, in Rome, New York, to Bruno and Anna Mercurio.

As one of 14 children, Anna Mae was always passionate about being around family her entire life.  Whether it was helping to operate the family businesses, Tony Rome's Restaurant in Lake Worth or Tony's Italian Restaurant in Palm City, Florida, Anna Mae was a central part of the tremendous success that both restaurants enjoyed.  Her friendliness and outgoing personality showed in her caring and compassionate love for her family, friends, and her community.  Anna Mae was the center of every family holiday and no one was left wanting when she served her amazing Italian dinners. Her grandchildren loved their Nana and her great grandchildren were blessed to know this feisty and fun loving grandmother who was fondly referred to as Big Nana.

Anna Mae was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tony Malizia, her daughter Karen Malizia Jones, and her grandson, Andrew Malizia, as well as her siblings. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Ralph Dolente, Tony Malizia (Jean), Michael Malizia (Judy), Angela Nardi (Charles), Joe Malizia (Valerie);  grandchildren Anthony, Shauna, Tracy and Daniele; and great grandchildren Kayla, Ashley, Luca, Adelina, and Nico.

A private funeral mass will be held May 5, 2020, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City, at 10 am, with internment at Forest Hill cemetery following the service.
