Obituary of Anthony Guerra
Anthony Guerra, 70, died Friday, December 15, 2006 at New Island Hospital in Bethpage, NY.
Born in Havana, Cuba he moved to the United States in 1956 from Cuba. He lived in New York City and moved to North Massapequa where he has resided since 1971. He has been wintering in Port St. Lucie, FL since 2005.
Prior to retirement he was an export specialist with General Electric of New York, NY.
He was Roman Catholic and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Massapequa Park, NY.
He had played baseball in Cuba.
Survivors: He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cary L. Guerra of North Massapequa, NY and Port St. Lucie, FL; son, Anthony C. Guerra of Port St. Lucie; daughter, Christel Jules of Port St. Lucie, FL;sister, Manuela Soueych of Cuba; nieces, Olga Lopez and Raquel Rodriquez both of New York.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Olga and Maria Luisa Soueych.
He was a caring, hard working and loving man devoted to family and friends. He was talented in music and dance. He will be remembered as being giving, good natured, and spiritual; he was loving and tender.
He had enjoyed recent celebrations with family for Thanksgiving at his nieces house; birthday and Fathers Day at Migdalias; and a Halloween party at his niece Raquels house.
Calling hours will be 2 PM to 9 PM, Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Forest Hills Funeral Home with a vigil service at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM, Thursday, December 21, 2006 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
