Obituary

Aristides William Nickas died peacefully on June 19, 2021, he was 97.
Known as Steve by family and friends, he was born on March 22, 1924 to William and Georgia Nickas in Gloucester,  Massachusetts.
Steve studied Commercial Art at Vesper George School of Art in Boston.
After serving overseas during WWII as a Medic/Surgical Tech., he began his career as a freelance Commercial Artist in Boston. Steve moved onto agency work until he retired as an Art Director/Vice President of Arnold and Company of Boston.
Through retirement and up until his passing, Steve remained creative, making personalized greeting cards with the photos he took of everyone. Steve never left home without his camera, even taking it to doctor appointments.
He loved the "Geiko", which always seemed to pop up in his photos.
Steve loved people, especially women and any chance to have a photo with them made him happy.
Steve considered himself blessed and lucky to have the life he had.
Steve is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Barbara and daughters Andrea, Stephanie and Coni, who love and miss him dearly.
A private burial was held at the Massachusetts National Cemetary in Bourne.
Followed by a toast in his memory of his favorite libation, OUZO, the "Nectar of the Gods".
