Obituary of Athanasia Stratakos

Athanasia "Cea" Stratakos, 89, of Palm City, FL, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at her home.

She was born in Leondari, Thivon, Greece and had been a resident of Palm City for 2 years coming from Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY. She immigrated to Brooklyn from Greece.

She was the owner, with her husband, of a restaurant in Bay Ridge before retirement.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Fort Pierce.

Athanasia loved spending time with all of her family and always put family first. She especially loved cooking and, dancing.

She is survived by her daughters, Helen Svenning (Peter) of Palm City and Mersini Fialo (Salvatore) of Eden Prarie, MN; grandchildren, Anders Svenning, Atheanna (Athanasia) Svenning and Lucas (Leonidas) Svenning, Eleni Fialo, Tino Fialo and Lucio Fialo; her sisters, Hariklia Koutsogiannis, Maria Livanios (Paul), Theano Makris and Eleni Gerogiannis (Evaggelos)and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Leonidas Stratakos on August 8; her sisters, Evaggelia Nikolaou and Chrisoula Petroulias and her brother, Vasilis Petroulias.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City. The Funeral Service with be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 22, 2015 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Fort Pierce, FL Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City.
