Barbara "Babs" Hewitt, 88, of Palm City, Florida passed away on November 8, 2020 in Stuart, Florida.

Born in San Francisco, California, she had been a resident of Palm City for 26 years coming from Miami, Florida where she had lived since the 1950's.

She and her husband Peter were owners/operators of Land Equipment Inc. in Miami and in Palm City.

She had been a member of the Miami Shores Country Club, the Martin Downs Country Club and the Monarch Country Club. She was an avid tennis and bridge player and firm supporter of the arts. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family and friends as well as throwing a great party!

She was proceeded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 61 years, Peter Hewitt. She is survived by her sister Patricia Davis of Larkspur, Colorado; her daughters, Leslie Gagne and her husband Steve of Wellington, and Valerie Stern and her husband James of Palm City; her grandchildren, Michael Stern and Brooke Stern of Palm City, Megan Harper and her husband Ben Tucker of San Diego, California, Mathew Gagne of Wellington, Florida and her great grandson, Ethan Harper.

There will be an interment of ashes at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Forest Hills in Palm City. Directly following there will be an open house at 3357 SW Westover Ct. Palm City, FL at 1:00.
