IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Sue
Walker
August 14, 1961 – October 15, 2023
Barbara Sue Hutchinson Walker, 62, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, was called home on October 15, 2023. She was born in Mount Vernon, New York on August 14, 1961, to Raymond and Mary Hutchinson.
She was the last of 5 children, known as "baby girl". She shared a special bond with her sister, Lynda. Together they would hit the road affectionately known as Thelma and Louise. She attended Mount Vernon High School. She gave birth to 3 loving children, Keith Alan Hutchinson Hart (deceased), Karen Hutchinson (deceased), and Kyle Hutchinson. She lived in Mount Vernon and assisted her mother with an in-home daycare. While helping and caring for others, she became known as the crazy cool aunt.
In 1991, life moved her across the country to Las Vegas, where she met the love of her life David Walker, Sr. The two were married on July 5, 1997, and were inseparable for over 30 years. Together they raised 6 children. She obtained a certified nursing certificate from Clark County School District in Las Vegas. She desired to work in the healthcare field, but God had bigger plans for her of owning her own business. Together with her husband, she owned and operated a maintenance, janitorial, and delivery service called Day & Night Cleaning.
Barbara truly was a force of nature and she made friends everywhere she went! At the young age of nine she met Wrenita Randall (Nita), she said "We are going to be best friends", and this remained true for 53 years. Barbara was also multitalented and known as a fashionista. She loved to shop and display her style in photos. Among her other talents were cooking and interior decorating. She transformed her homes into picturesque dwellings.
As retirees, Barbara and David enjoyed domestic traveling and visiting countless family and friends, but most importantly creating memories. In their downtime, they spent time gardening, sailing, and fishing, but when football season started, it was a very serious time in the Walker household. They shared their love for the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was fair to label her as a die hard Steelers fan, but her favorite labels were "Mama" and "Nana Sue".
Barbara is survived by her soulmate David Walker Sr. Her children Kyle (Grace) Hutchinson, David (Andrea) Walker Jr, Kimberly Walker, and Gladys Walker. Her grandchildren, Kamron Hutchinson and Keith Hutchinson, Moniece Hutchinson, Jeremiah Hutchinson, Sevaun Hutchinson, Seriah Hutchinson, Sanaa Hutchinson, and Sevyn Hutchinson, and a host of nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her siblings Raymond (Tinka) B. Hutchinson, Rosita Vanessa (Freddie) Williams, Valerie R. Wilson, and Alfonso Wilson.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Hutchinson, Raymond (Ozena) Hutchinson; children, Keith Alan Hutchinson Hart and Karen Hutchinson, and siblings, Lynda Hutchinson, Norman Hutchinson, Christopher Hutchinson, and Clark Wilson.
