Barry J. Rice, 84 of Stuart, Fl, passed away on June 6, 2016 at the Treasure Coast Hospice.
He was born and raised in Miami, Fl. His first job was with FPL. During these years he served in the U.S Navy and enjoyed flying his Piper Cub. He owned his own business American Roof Cleaning and he went on to became a firefighter for the City of Miami Beach where he retired in 1983 as a Division Chief. He loved hunting and fishing with friends and family between the Fl. Keys and Georgia. After retirement he moved to Milledgeville, Ga. and lived either on beautiful Lake Sinclair or on his farm. He enjoyed tending to the land, making homemade wine and entertaining friends and family. He followed his children to Stuart 11 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannine; his sons, Jeff, Tim (Vicki) and his daughter, Kathleen Cox (Tom), his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Michelle, Angela, Regina, Taylor and Karleigh; his great grandchildren, Emma and Zoey and one soon to be born; his sister, Rosalie Miller and his ex-wife, Annie Rice. He was preceded in death by his brother, Raleigh Rice and his sister Betty Pascalis. He leaves behind many family members and friends who will greatly miss him.
There will be a gathering to celebrate Barry's life on June 14, 2016 from 4-6 pm at Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City, Fl.
