Obituary of Betty McKnight
Betty Jean McKnight, 77, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, died on October 9, 2012 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Fort Pierce.
Born in Pittsboro, North Carolina, she had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 30 years coming from Pompano Beach, Florida. She came to Florida from Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Before retiring she was a bookkeeper for a Olympic Pools in Palm City for over 24 years.
She knit hats for preemies for several hospitals including Jacksonville Wolfson Children's Hospital, St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, the University of North Carolina Hospital and Carolina Medical Center.
Survivors include daughters Heather Mazzotta of Shillington, Pennsylvania, Vali Sheridan of Sunbury, Pennsylvania and Melanie Gonya of Sylvania, Georgia; a sister, Leslie Jo Foley of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers George Wright of Deerfield Beach, Florida and Roy Wright of Bradenton, Florida and four grandchildren.
SERVICES: Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on October 13, 2012 at the Forest Hills Funeral Homes Palm City Chapel with a service in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park, Palm City.
