Betty Lou (Wise) O'Donnell






Betty Lou (Wise) O'Donnell, 94, of Stuart, Fl. died on March 30, 2024. She was married to Bob O'Donnell for 62 years before he passed away in 2013. She has six surviving children: Marianne (Bob Ivany), Tricia (Vince Jiovanazzo), Mike (Rhonda), Kelly (Jeannine), Tim (Pam) and Rob. Betty adored her 13 grandchildren and 26 ½ great grandchildren and they adored her.


She was born on April 11, 1929 to Vada and Ken Wise in Elyria, Ohio. She married Bob on April 7th, 1951. After their 5th child was born, they moved from Elyria to "Hobby Horse Farm", their standardbred farm in Grafton, where they enjoyed raising and racing horses.


Betty and Bob retired to Florida in their late 50's and enjoyed golf, tennis and boating as well as visits from family and friends. The house was always filled with laughter, Irish songs, jokes and love.


Betty was very athletic and continued her amateur tennis career well into her 80's. If you knew Betty, it would not surprise you to know that she was 4th runner up in the Miss Ohio Pageant and the first person to wear a two-piece bathing suit in the competition!


A funeral mass will be held at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 350 NW California Blvd. in Port St. Lucie on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 10 a.m.


A private burial will be held at a later date.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
