Beverly Elizabeth Gluhosky, age 87, of Palm City, FL died peacefully September 18, 2024 among her immediate family.
She was born June 4, 1937 in Hartford, CT to Roderick and Frances (Farley) LeMay.
She attended East Hartford High School in East Hartford, CT. She had completed many collegiate courses, specializing in economics through the Arch Diocese of Hartford, CT.
Her professional career included the position of an Administrative Manager for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, CT. Upon retiring in 1990, she moved to Palm City, FL where she spent the remaining years of her life. During this time, she volunteered for Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm Beach Diocese where she was president of the Women's Guild, a distributor of communion to the sick and homeless, a chairperson of the bereavement group, a portrayer of the bible study group, a lector, and a minister of communion. She is best remembered as a person who always put other people's needs first before her own, providing comfort, peace, and words of wisdom to those she encountered.
Beverly was survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Frank Gluhosky, 4 sons, Paul (Diane Bolduc) Gluhosky of Vernon, CT, Mark (Sharon Philbrick, deceased) Gluhosky of Ellington, CT, Matthew (Michele Brink) Gluhosky of Rapid City, SD, and James (Colleen Sweeney, deceased) of Summerville, SC. She also has 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was also survived by a brother, Robert (Barbara) LeMay of St Augustine, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Donald and Charles LeMay, and one sister Barbara Gregorio and many nieces and nephews.
In her spare time, she loved counted cross-stitch, sudoku, attending many sporting events, visiting relatives, and ethnic dancing.
Services in honor of Beverly will be held Friday, September 27th from 4-8pm at Forrest Hills Funeral Home, 2001 SW Murphy Rd, Palm City, FL. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 28th at 11am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1454 SW Mapp Rd, Palm City, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church or Treasure Coast Hospice. Donations can be made online at treasurehealth.org.
