IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bozena
Gruszczynska
November 20, 1958 – January 1, 2026
Bozena Gruszczynska, a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, at the age of 67.
Born on November 20, 1958, in Rzeszów, Poland, Bozena fulfilled her early life dreams before immigrating to the United States with her family in 1992. She arrived with a deep love for her homeland, strong family values, and an unwavering work ethic. Like many immigrants of her generation, she embraced the challenge of building a new life while fiercely preserving her culture, language, and traditions. Keeping these traditions alive was of the utmost importance to her; maintaining Polish customs among her family was always Bozena's priority during holidays, special events, or simply in the quiet moments of everyday life.
A master of Polish cuisine, Bozena expressed her love through her kitchen. She took great joy in setting a place for a special meal—often preparing enough for many on a regular basis—to ensure that everyone who surrounded her could feast on her traditional cooking. This hospitality was one of her greatest passions and a gift to all those close to her. She loved to travel and explore the world as she did regularly and would always look back at photos and videos reflecting on memories. Reading books was a standard for her to a point where libraries ran out of books for her to read.
Bozena first settled in Morristown, New Jersey, where she devoted herself to her family and community. She later moved to Boca Raton, Florida, for a change of scenery and, most importantly, to be close to her son, daughter-in-law, and the rest of her family settled there. Bozena was known for her kindness, resilience, faith, generosity, and humor. She possessed a rare "just honesty" and a genuine love for everyone around her. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome, "homey," and cared for, not only in her own house but wherever she set foot.
She is survived by her husband, Krzysztof; her loving son Marcin and daughter-in-law Zoryana; and many extended family members and friends in the United States, England, and Poland.
