Brenda Jean Looney McElroy passed away on February 28, 2021 at the age of 71.

Brenda was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on September 25, 1949. Brenda graduated from Stranahan High School in 1967 and went on to earn an associates degree from Broward Junior College.

She will join her parents Herman Warren Looney Sr., Dorothy Maxine Looney, and brother Herman Warren Looney Jr. in heaven.

Brenda was survived by her loving husband, Stan McElroy of 51 years. They were married in Fort Lauderdale at Church-by-the-Sea on December 13, 1969. Brenda is lovingly remembered by her sons Kyle and Keith McElroy, daughter-in-law Jennie McElroy, future daughter-in-law Kelly Slater, sister-in-law Brenda Hofelmann, and her grandsons Brady, Brock, and Blake.

A resident of Palm City, Florida since 1978, Brenda's hobbies include flowers, arts and crafts, making ceramic dolls, and spending time with family. Stan and Brenda had a second home in Tifton, Georgia for nearly 15 years.

Brenda was a devoted wife and mother. She served as the primary support resource for two generations of aging family members while ensuring that both Kyle and Keith were heavily involved with sports and after school activities in the 1980's and early 1990's. Later, she enjoyed multiple generations of Samoyed dogs, growing hundreds of Orchid plants, and making cermaic dolls.

Brenda was a member of the American Orchid Society and American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

The funeral service will be held at Forest Hills Funeral Home on March 19, 2021 at 2001 SW Murphy Road, Palm City, Florida 34990. Vistation will begin at 10am with the funeral to procced immediately after at 12:00pm.
