Brian Lawrence Gilmurray, 86, of Stuart, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2023, and is finally at rest.

Brian was born on January 13, 1937 to Rose (Brady) and Patrick Joseph Gilmurray in Glasgow, Scotland.  After high school, at the age of 18, he endured the 16 foot swells of the ocean to reach Canada where he worked for Johns-Manville until joining the United States Air Force.  He served this country as an airplane mechanic, and later became a proud US citizen.

Brian spent many of his working years on a ladder as a union painter for local DC9.  During his retirement he enjoyed golfing and taking his boat out to go fishing.

Brian loved mixing his favorite cocktail to enjoy while rooting for his favorite teams - the Giants or the Yankees. The walls of his home were filled with photos of the people who were most important to him.

Brian was predeceased by his parents, his brother Ronnie Gilmurray, his sisters Barbara Church and Alison Gilmurray, and his long time girlfriend Barbara Grimaldi. He is survived by his son Brian of Branchburg, NJ, his daughter Lynette of Burbank, CA, his son Allan (Mindi) of Bridgewater, NJ, and grandchildren Matthew, Kate, Colgan, Evan, and Nicholas. Brian also leaves behind his sister Madelaine Laurelli of Palm City, FL, his sister Patricia Brady of Manchester, England along with many nieces, nephews, and the mother of his children, Claire Gilmurray of Beach Haven West, NJ.
