Obituary of Burton Fischley

Burton J. Fischley, 91, of Palm City, Florida died April 27, 2011 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Hay-Madeira House, Stuart.

Born in Ohio, he was a resident of Palm City for over 25 years coming from Dearborn, Michigan.

During World War II he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp attaining the rank of Captain. He was a graduate of Case Western Reserve University.

Before retiring, he was the CEO of Great Lake Steel Corporation and Vice President of National Steel Corporation. He had been a volunteer for many years with Meals on Wheels. He was a member of the Martin Downs Country Club, Palm City and the Dearborn Country Club.



Survivors include a son Robert Fischley of Southgate, Michigan; daughters, Patricia Golem of Dearborn, Donna Comerer of Apopka, Florida, Grace Ford of Palatine, Illinois, Dr. Barbara Fischley of North Branch, Minnesota, and Margaret MacFarlane Dearborn; a brother John "Jack" Fischley of Amelia, Ohio; his loving companion, Doris Ball of Palm City; eight grandchildren, one step grandchild and one step great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Kelley Fischley.

SERVICES: There will be a memorial service, at 2:00 PM on May 28, 2011at Forest Hills Funeral Homes Palm City Chapel. Inurnment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum with Military Honors, provided by the U.S. Air Force.
