August 24, 1954 - May 6, 2023

Ross F. Holt, 68, of Palm City, FL passed away peacefully on May 6, 2023. Ross will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Ross was born in Jamestown, NY to James and Ursula Holt on August 24,1954. He passed away at Martin North Hospital in Stuart, FL.

Ross Fredrick Holt dedicated his life to his community and law enforcement for over 40 years. He began his career in police work and knew it was his passion early on. After accepting a position at the Florida State Fire Marshal's office, Bureau of Fire & Arson Investigations (now known as the Division of Investigative & Forensic Services) on March 2, 1981, as a detective, he worked his way through the ranks, ultimately being promoted to the rank of captain. Ross also proudly became the accelerant canine commander. After 42 years of service, Ross was the longest serving member of the division.

Ross loved NASCAR, the Buffalo Bills and the Florida State Seminoles. He was passionate about spending time with his family and beamed with pride when speaking about his granddaughters. Ross was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, mentor, and friend who will be tremendously missed by all.

Ross leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Penney, his daughters Farrah (Holt) Gomez and Lesley Holt-Laljie and his Granddaughters, Ariana Gomez and Rosalee Laljie.

Ross's visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m, on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, FL. His service will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 11am at Forest Hill Palm City Memorial Park, Palm City, FL.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers or donations, please send a card or an email with stories or memories that you shared with Ross. These memories will be added to a Memory Book for the family to enjoy for years to come.
