Obituary of Carmen Balfour
Carmen Balfour, 81, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Martin South Hospital, Stuart, FL.
Born in Jamaica, W.I., she had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 3 years coming from Ocala, FL.
Prior to retiring she was a seamstress and fashion designer. Her career took her to London, Jamaica and Connecticut. In Bloomfield, Connecticut she owned "Fashions" a fashion boutique.
Survivors include her daughters, Thelma Taffe and Yvonne Taffe, both of Port St. Lucie; Anne Marie Goforth of Zebulon, NC and honorary daughter, Barby Conolly of Grand Cayman; her sons, Lansley Taffe of Rocky Hill, CT, H. Paul Taffe of Leesburg, VA and H. Oliver Taffe of Madison, IL; her sister Pearl Allen of Jamaica; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; 4 nephews and a niece, Anthea Seaman. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Owen Taffe and Renford Balfour and her son Anthony Taffe.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity, 1151 SW Del Rio Boulevard, Port St. Lucie with a service at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow in Rolling Oaks Cemetery, Port St. Lucie.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City.
