It is with heavy heart that the children of Carolyn "Betty" Smith 91, share her passing on Saturday March 9, 2019 at Martin Memorial. She passed peacefully with her family and friends by her side. Betty had been a resident of Stuart since relocating from Baltimore, MD in 1972.

Betty was very involved in her community. She volunteered her time to the YMCA, The Barn Theater, Tuckahoe Mansion and was very passionate about the time she spent with Jr Achievement. In the mid '90s she started The Government Reporter, and worked as an independent contractor providing a private subscription service for reports on Martin County and Stuart Commission meetings.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Carol Bloom and her husband Roger of Boynton Beach, Susan Kunz and her husband Bill of Annapolis, MD, Lauren Dumas (and deceased husband David) of Palm Beach Gardens, son Brad Smith and his wife Darlene of Doral, as well as 4 grandchildren, Kimberleigh Coyne, Meredith Dasher, Shaw Smith and Ryan Smith. She was dearly loved by her children and many friends. She will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Betty's life will take place on Friday, May 3rd from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at The Mansion at Tuckahoe, 1707 NE Indian River Drive, Jensen Beach, FL.  Kindly RSVP by April 26th to MRSLAD55@gmail.com OR BLOOMVAIL@aol.com .  In honor of Betty, please wear 'bright' attire.
