Obituary of Catherine Cooney

Catherine "Kay" Cooney, 88, of Stuart, Florida, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Martin Medical Center, Stuart.

Born in New York City, she had been a resident of Stuart for 33 years coming from Tom's River, NJ.

Before retiring she was an executive secretary for the Morgan Guarantee Trust Company, in New York City.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Stuart and she enjoyed reading, dancing and traveling.

Survivors include her husband Vincent M. Cooney of Stuart; three grandchildren, James Cooney and his wife Julie, Peter Cooney and his wife Yeng and Mary Cooney and a great-grandson, Jack Cooney all of Milwaukee, WI and a brother Thomas Gorman and his wife Constance of Stuart. She was preceded in death be her son Michael J, Cooney on 2005 and a brother, William Gorman.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21st, 2015 at the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City with a vigil prayer service at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 22nd, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
