IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ceil
Crawford
May 31, 1923 – November 15, 2023
Ceil Crawford, 100, of Palm City FL passed in peace after a short illness on November 15, 2023. She was surrounded by loving family members, as she was often in life. Ceil had a warm, gracious, engaging, and loving manner and could always make people smile. In June her family and friends celebrated her 100th birthday with a joyous party.
Ceil was born Lucille Dellacorte to Frank and Marie Dellacorte in Jersey City NJ, on May 31,1923, and was very close to her brother Joe and 3 sisters Edie, Louise, and Midge. In 1944 she married the love of her life, Robert J. Crawford, whom she met in New York City when they both worked at the same company. During their 63 years of marriage they lived in various places in the US due to his job as a chemical engineer.
Ceil is survived by her children: David of Clementon NJ, Thomas (Diana) of Burlingame CA, and Barbara McIntosh and Alice Paoleschi (David) of Palm City FL, 8 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert and her dear daughter-in-law Alicia Crawford.
A woman of strong faith, Ceil was a member of Holy Redeemer Church in Palm City where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, participated in many activities of the church, and regularly attended Bible Study. She loved baking, gardening, and bridge. One of the highlights of her later life was a weekly bridge game with her special friends. Her favorite activity, however, was being with the family she cherished and who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:30pm on Thursday, November 16, at Forest Hills Palm City Chapel, Palm City. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am at Holy Redeemer Church, 1454 Mapp Road, Palm City, followed by Burial at Forest Hills Memorial Park, next to the church at 2001 SW Murphy Road.
