Charles J. Gipe, 85, of Hobe Sound, FL, passed away on May 22, 2016 at his home.
Born in Hershey, PA, he had been a resident of Hobe Sound for 58 years coming from Hershey.
During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the VFW.
Before retiring Charles was a supervisor at Pratt and Whitney working in plant engineering for 32 years.
In his time away from work Charles enjoyed being out doors either getting in an early morning of surf fishing for snook on Hobe Sound beach or playing a round of golf with his son. He also enjoyed traveling with the family.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Gloria Gipe; his daughter Lauri Gipe, son Jeff Gipe and his wife, Maritza and two grandchildren, Victoria Gipe and Jeffrey Gipe all of Hobe Sound; his sister, Doris Harmony of Palmyra, PA and his brother Robert Gipe of Hershey. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul W. Gipe, Jr. and John Gipe.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City, FL with a service at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Palm City.
