Obituary of Charles Kuhn

Charles Hemmann Kuhn, 92, of Stuart, Florida died July 3 at Martin Medical Center, Stuart.

Born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, he had been a resident of Stuart for over 30 years.

During World War II, he served in the U. S. Navy and saw action in the South Pacific aboard the battleship USS Washington and during the Korean conflict aboard the minesweeper USS McCormack. He earned a BS from Moravian College, in Bethlehem, PA, later returning there to serve as the college's Comptroller. He held the same post at Susquehanna University and then was appointed to Assistant to the President for Finance at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg where he was actively involved in the early development of the Greensburg Campus. He was a past president of his condominium's tenant counsel. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palm City.

Survivors include sons, Charles H Kuhn, III of Delmont, PA and Ronald L Kuhn of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; a sister, Patricia Anne Mittemeyer of San Diego, California; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death, by his wife, Elna Kuhn and sisters Virginia Stoltz and Violet Bushwaller.

SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on July 28, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
