Charles E. "Bud" Spannaus of St. Lucie West, FL 86, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Son of the late May Sexius and Charles O. Spannaus He was married to Nanci Fendler Spannaus and had four loving children. He was raised in New Rochelle, NY and is an alumnus of New Rochelle High School and Franklin and Marshall College. He was a member of Psi Kappa Psi and selected to the Who's Who in American Universities and Colleges.
He joined St. Jonn Associates, a direct mail and advertising firm in NYC where he became a Partner/Executive VP. He was active in the Mail Advertising System Association and Direct Marketing Association.
Bud had many interest - he was a founding member of The Westchester Hockey Association, where he also coached. He was an avid fly fisherman and golfer. He loved art, music and people.
Bud and Nanci raised their children in Chappaqua, NY before retiring to Florida he was a former member of Westchester CC, Whipporwill CC, NYAC, and Harbor Ridge Yacht and CC.
Summers were spent at his beloved cottage at Lakeridge in the Belgrade Lakes area of Maine. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, sons Chad, Dave (Rudy), Peter (Lilian) and daughter Gayle. Grandchildren Alexx, Hunter, Anna, Michaela, and Peter. Sister Elizabeth Diggs, and many nieces and nephews.
A personable man, he was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all.
There will be a memorial gathering form 3:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City, Florida.
