Obituary of Clarence Shawver
CLARENCE F. SHAWVER, JR
Clarence F. Shawver Jr., 90, died April 7, 2010 at St. Lucie Medical Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
He was born in Fayette County, W. Va., moved from Charleston W. Va., and lived in Port St. Lucie for 42 years.
He was retired from DuPont in Belle W.Va. after 40 years as chemical operator and foreman. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and served as presiding overseer in both Port St. Lucie and South Ft. Pierce Congregations for over 40 years.
Survivors include his sons, Clarence F. (Lucky) III of Palm City and Daniel W. Shawver Sr. of Port St. Lucie; brothers Wallace C. Shawver of Lutz and Richard D. Shawver of Tampa; sisters Ernestine Lyon of Valrico; Ella M. Walker of Land O' Lakes; Rebecca Ann Miller of Tampa; and Mary Lou Miller of Clearwater; four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ruth E. Shawver; parents Clarence F. and Mary Opel Shawver and his sister Erma Lea Butcher of North Carolina.
SERVICES: Visitation will be from 1:00 PM Saturday April 10, at Forest Hills Funeral home in Palm City with a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM, with burial to follow. A guest book may be signed at www.foresthillsfunerals. com.
