Connie, the only child of Frank and Lillian Halpin, was born and raised in White Plains, NY and later, Flushing, NY. After high school, she attended secretarial school and then took a job at McGraw Hill Publishing in Manhattan. She met Walter Ludwig, the love of her life, at a church dance. In 1997, Connie and Walt moved to Conquistador in Stuart, FL where they lived until Walt's death in 2020. They were married for 67 years. Connie then resided at Brookdale Buckingham in Glastonbury, CT.
Connie lit up any room she walked into. Tall and statuesque, she had a beautiful smile and friendly demeanor. She was a playful spirit who loved to laugh. She was a good listener, compassionate and generous. She was a writer of prose and poetry and had a lovely singing voice.
Connie's Catholic faith was a cornerstone in her life, and she was an active member of her church, the most recent St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart. She participated in many church ministries over the years, including Block Rosary Leader, Choir member, Eucharistic Minister and Minister to the Sick.
Connie loved people and caring for others. She created community wherever she went. She leaves behind an amazing legacy of love, laughter, and faith and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon her.
