Obituary of Crescencio Ocampo

Crescencio Ocampo, 93, of Port St. Lucie, died October 31, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Isabela, Philippines, and had been a resident of Port St. Lucie since 1980, having moved from Philadelphia. He was a veteran of World War II, having fought for his country in the Filipino army and survived imprisonment in a Japanese concentration camp. He was a graduate of Mapua Institute of Technology in the Philippines, and finished at the top of his class with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was an economic consultant for the Philippines under then President Ferdinand Marcos and a member of the country's United Nations delegation. After coming to the United States, he had been a director for Colonial Penn before retirement. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie and a member of the Filipino Association.

He is survived by 8 children and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Visitacion Ocampo, 2 sisters and a brother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, November 4th, at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie.

Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City.
