Daniel "Dan"
G. Rottman
Jan 15, 1961 — Apr 1, 2021
Stuart
Daniel (Dan) G. Rottman January 15, 1961-April 1, 2021.
On Thursday, April 1, 2021, Dan Rottman passed away at the age of 60 in Stuart Florida. Dan was born on January 15, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois to Jack and Loretta Rottman. As a teenager, Dan was awarded the citizenship award from Rhodes School and was a member of the 1977 East Leyden Class 5A Champion Football Team. He received his Associates Degree in Automotive Technology from Triton College and worked for Action Team Standard in Oak Brook, Illinois.
On July 4, 1985, Dan suffered an injury leaving him a quadriplegic, but the injury never stopped Dan from living his life to the fullest. He was honored as Man of the Year by the Oak Brook Rotary Club in 1986 and he trained himself to develop computer websites, serving numerous companies over the years. Dan was a social butterfly with the most infectious smile and a mischievous side. He was a loving son to his late parents and held a special place in his late mother's heart. Dan enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including cigars and iced coffee, but most particularly he enjoyed camping with his brother Steve and family at Woodhaven Lakes where he had the freedom to power around in his wheelchair. He especially loved being an uncle and thrived at being a great-uncle to his 13 great-nieces and nephews. In 2018 Dan left Illinois to be with family and enjoy the sunny warm weather of Florida.
Dan was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jack and Loretta, Brother Peter, Sisters Susi Darmofal and Beth Stauffer, and sister-in-law Marsha. He is survived by his brothers John (Sheree), Mark (Pam), and Steve, his sister Judi (Craig), and his 14 nieces and nephews.
Dan's family extends their heartfelt thanks to all who touched his life.
Dan will be laid to rest in his hometown of River Grove, Illinois early this summer.
