David Mompoint, 83, of Port St. Lucie, passed away, February 5, 2016 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce. He was born in Haiti, and moved to the United States in 1967, settling in New York. He has been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 11 years, having moved from Springfield Gardens, NY. He was an engineer for over 25 years in the City of New York. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie.
He is survived by his wife, Olga Mompoint from Jacmel, Haiti; sons, Sacha Mompoint (Shari) of Akron, OH and Eddy Mompoint of Jersey City, NJ; daughter, Sandra White (Rudolph) of Queens, NY; grandchildren, Teyraisa Mompoint, Sabrina Mompoint, Jada Mompoint, Kaylah Mompoint, Niesa White and Elisa White; sisters, Elsie Bontemps (Serge) of Teaneck, NJ and Sister Junior Mompoint of Cap Haitien, Haiti; brothers, George Mompoint (Claude) of Brooklyn, NY and Henry Mompoint; aunt, Yvette Mompoint of Queens, NY; nieces, Ketty Giorgianni (Robert) of Ossining, NY and Rose Miguel of Queens, NY; nephew, Patrick Duplan and 4 great grandchildren and a number of nephews and nieces not mentioned in addition to countless friends.
Visitation: 5:00PM-8:00PM, Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City Chapel. The prayer service will be at 7:00PM.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30AM, Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie.
