IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Olin
Sabre
October 5, 1935 – November 30, 2022
David Olin Sabre, of Palm City, FL, 87 years young, passed away suddenly and peacefully at home November 30th 2022 .
He passed doing what he loved doing every day; getting ready for the day; checking in @ Manero's restaurant (his true retirement passion). His love of working out at the gym, cooking , baking his sour dough bread experiments and delivering to neighbors, golfing at Monarch Country Club and being a dedicated volunteer for the SCORE organization kept him busy, focused and never bored . Dave Sabre was a force . He was larger than life. When he walked into a room his presence was undeniable. His smile, contagious positive attitude, sense of humor, unlimited energy,, caring and giving personality can be joyfully remembered, respected and admired by all who had the privilege to meet him .
He is survived by his loving wife Susanne (nee Toscano) (nee Tursi), his children Mark (Kim), Christine (Patrick) , Matthew, Scott , Ashley Sabre Dial(Ryan), and Chelsea Sabre Lee (Brandon). He is survived by two step children , Melissa Stille , and Michael Tursi (Nicole), 11 grandchildren; Hayden, Colin, Sara , Bobby , David, Stephanie, Blair, Jessica, Nicholas, Beatrice, Julia and 5 great grandchildren; also survived by several loving nephews, nieces and their families. He was welcomed home to heaven by his mother, Sara Jane Wheeler, his son Steven, and his brother Blair .
David was born October 5, 1935 in Oswego, New York. Big Dave grew up as a small-town farm boy who cherished his meager and loving childhood, but his personal aspirations drew him to a life that most can only dream of . Right after North Syracuse High School, he proudly served in the United States Airforce and took great pride in the fact that he was one of the first pilots to fly the Lockheed F-94 Starfire. His time in the service created opportunities to travel the world. His most memorable being his time he spent in Turkey where he learned the language and fell in love with the culture. After the service he worked nights at General Electric attended Syracuse University days, played some limited football for SU (injury) and graduated with a B.S degree in 1963, and remained a proud Orangeman and Alumni.
His hard working professional career with his great sales and consulting attributes, took him to great companies; General Electric, IBM, KPMG, Ernst and Young, AT&T Solutions, Arthur Anderson , and Effective Technology Consultants, all of which he shared his tremendous work ethic, even up to his death, and expected the same from others, (King of spreadsheets for those that dealt with him!) David lived life and work on spreadsheets. For those of you who knew him, you got this !
The outpouring of kindness and care that we have received during this time has been immeasurable . From the bottom of our hearts, we are eternally grateful for the family, friends and community that have lifted us up. Big Dave continues to bless us through all of you. His infectious spirit will be missed .
In lieu of flowers or donations, our family requests only your continued love and support . That's what Big Dave would have wanted .
