Derick Nelson McKenzie, (78), of Port Saint Lucie, FL passed away peacefully on December 23, 2020.

Derick was born on July 10 ^th , 1942, to Aston McKenzie and Josephine Russell in Clarendon, Jamaica.  He grew up in Sunning Hill, St. Thomas. Derick was a heavy equipment operator in the construction field while in Jamaica for many years. Later in his life he moved to Kingston, Jamaica where he worked for years until he migrated to the United States.

While living in Michigan, he worked at Sima Chem as a hazardous waste disposer. Derick retired to Port St. Lucie, Florida in 1992.

Derick was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Roy and Larry; sisters: Ruby and Herman.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Pearline McKenzie;  daughter, Annamay McKenzie-Eason (Jeffrey); son, Robert McKenzie of Jamaica; daughter, Suzzette McKenzie of NY; 7 Grandchildren and 8 Great grandchildren.

A visitation will take place on Monday, January 4 ^th at 10:00 am followed by funeral ceremony and burial at Forest Hills Funeral Home Palm City, FL. Pastor Willie Russ will be the officiate.
