Obituary of Donal Tamkins
Donal F. Tamkins, 81, died Saturday, February 10, 2007 at his home.
Born in Binghamton, NY, he has resided in Florida since 1968 moving to Port St. Lucie in 1989 from Pompano Beach.
Prior to retirement he was a quality inspector for I. B. M. for 45 years.
He was a combat wounded Army veteran of WWII; he received the Combat Infantry Badge; Purple Heart; two Battle Stars on EAMETO ribbon.
He was of the Presbyterian faith.
He enjoyed fixing computers, tinkering and working on electronics. He liked tractors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace H. Tamkins in 1990 and brother, Graydon Tamkins in 2006.
He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Diane Andreasen of Vero Beach and Lori Anne Sanchez of Port St. Lucie; son, David A. Tamkins of Indiantown; sister, Marjorie Wilson of St. Augustine; Brother, Robert Tamkins of Pembroke Pines, FL; 11 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 14, 2007 from 5 Pm to 8 PM at Forest Hills Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the Chapel of Forest Hills Funeral Home with Chaplain Harry Butsko officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park with military honors provided by the U. S. Army.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospices, Inc., 1201 S. E. Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
