Obituary of Donald Bond

Donald M. Bond, 86, of Palm City, passed away December 23, 2015 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart. He was born in Roosevelt, NY and had been a resident of Palm City since 2003, having migrated from Great River, NY. He had worked in the circulation department at the Daily News in NY for 38 years, before retirement, in addition to refurbishing houses with his brother. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Donald attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Bond of Palm City; daughters, Denise Burkhardt (Thomas) of Palm City and Lisa Schenfeldt (Chris) of Lancaster, PA; sons, Donald Bond (Elizabeth) of Huntington, NY and Kevin Bond (Margaret) of Asbury, NJ; grandchildren, Caitlin, Caroline and Page Bond, Justin Jason and Kyle Burkhardt, Kevin and Casey Bond, Jared and Callie Schenfeldt; great grandchildren, Gavin, Reid and Mason Burkhardt; siblings, Kenneth and William. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Burkhardt and 5 siblings: John, Thomas, Miriam, Ronald and Jerome.

Visitation: 8:30 - 9:30 AM, Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City.
