Donald Gross, 91, passed away peacefully at home on March 5th with his loving family by his side.  He was born on July 31,1930, the son of Rachel and Morton Gross.  He graduated from Duluth Central High School and the University of Minnesota.

Don loved the water and was a master sailor.  He spent some of his most enjoyable times sailing Lake Superior, the St Lucie River, and the Caribbean. After working at the family business, he joined a friend in a loan company. In 1976 they moved to Colorado Springs and acquired a bank charter which he managed successfully until it was bought by a corporation who cloned their unique business model to establish additional branches.

Don enjoyed camping in the Minnesota boundary waters, biking, skiing and hiking in the Colorado mountains, sculling on the St Lucie River, traveling and volunteering, at Martin Memorial South Hospital accruing almost 10,000 hours.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dolores, daughters, Nancy(Stuart), Shelly(Gary) and grandchildren, Sarah, Lane, and Alex.

A memorial service will be held at Forest Hills Chapel on Wednesday, March 9 ^th at 11:00am.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Treasure Coast Hospice.
