Donald Plant passed away Thursday December 30, 2021, peacefully in his sleep. Preceded in death by his mother and father, Georginna and Irvin Plant and brother Irvin Plant JR.  Donald is survived by his loving wife Roberta Plant, his brother Dennis Plant, his children Donald Plant Jr and Tara Ornold, and his five grandchildren Dominic, Macie, Morgan, Madelyn and Meghan.

Donald was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was a commercial lobster fisherman with his brother off Sandy Hook N.J. Over 30 years ago he and his family moved to Florida and purchased Basin Seafood where he would provide fresh seafood and a friendly place for fisherman and residents to gather and enjoy lunch or dinner in an old Florida setting. He was a passionate commercial crab fisherman and provided blue crab for many along the Treasure Coast. When not out on the water, Donald could be found at Basin Seafood, telling stories and cracking jokes with customers and family. He developed many friendships through Basin and will be remembered by many in Port Salerno.

He served in the Marine Corps for four years in tanks as a sergeant. While serving he built lifelong relationships with Marine Corps buddies along with many of the other friends he made throughout his life. He was loved by his friends and family and will be missed and remembered for all the wonderful times we had together.

"My sheep hear my voice and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal Life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand" rest in peace my brother!

A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM on Friday, January 14 at Forest Hills Memorial Park with Military Honors.
