Obituary of Donna Nelson
Donna Jean Nelson, 86, of Palm City, FL, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2013 at Water's Edge in Palm City surrounded by loved ones. She was born on October 11, 1926 in Peoria, IL to the late Wilbur and Mae Hembrough.
A Graduate of Bradley University, Donna went on to become an advertising executive in Chicago, where she met and married her late husband of 33 years, Clyde Nelson. She and Clyde were residents of Palm City since 1989 and members of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Stuart.
Donna will be missed by her children: Jorge Monteiro of Jupiter, FL; Steven Monteiro of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Kim Soskin (Skip) of Alameda, CA; Burr Nelson (Ginny) of IL; grandchildren, Cory (Alecia), Justin (Debbie), Leige, Erin (Jason), Evan, Danielle, Emily and Anna; and great grandchildren, Jack, Lilly, Coda, Abigail and Maple.
Those who knew Donna will remember her as a true lady, a gracious host and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the epitome of class and grace, and was an exceptional role model to her family. Donna Jean "the beauty queen," as her boys lovingly called her, will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held at 1PM, Saturday, September 14th at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Stuart.
