Donnie E. Hall (Don), 83 passed away peacefully on June 10, 2021. Don is a decorated veteran who devoted his life to his country and family.
Don joined the Air Force directly out of high school and served on military bases throughout the country and abroad. He achieved rank very quickly and received many awards of excellence and accomplishment, including being selected as a member of the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. He continued his education and attained countless certifications as well as a bachelor ' s degree and post-graduate level work.
Don was a veteran of the Vietnam War who was actively involved in retrieving soldiers from the line and returning them safely to American soil. Most notably, he played a key role in evacuating prisoners of war. After the conflict Don served in health care administration at the Homestead Air Force Base and reached the rank of Senior Master Sergeant before achieving a full retirement.
Following the Air Force years, Don continued his service to his country by becoming a health care administer, specializing in ambulatory services at the Veteran ' s Administration Hospital. Don worked his way up to Associate Chief of Medical Administration Service before reaching a second full retirement.
Don became a family man early in his military career and eventually the proud father of three boys. Along with fatherhood Don took great pride in staying physically active and being a part of a team during and after his career. He stayed strong and fit and participated in athletic clubs including various volleyball squads and bowling teams.
While working at the V.A. Hospital in Miami, Fl Don met his lovely wife, Carol Bierut. Don and Carol were happily married on May 6, 2006 and lived an active life with great friends building a home together while traveling often during their retirement. They remained very close, loving and devoted.
Don leaves behind his wife Carol Bierut, three sons Donnie E. Hall, Jr., David T. Hall and Richard J. Hall, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, two nieces and one nephew.
A celebration of Don ' s life will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park & Palm City Chapel, 2001 SW Murphy Rd , Palm City, FL 34990 .
Visitation Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 5:00pm ~ 7:00pm and Service is at South Florida National VA Cemetery, Lane 1,
Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 2:00pm.
