Obituary of Dorothea Davis

Dorothea Masterson Davis, 92, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, died August 9, 2009 at St. Lucie Medical Center, Port St. Lucie.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, she had lived in Port St. Lucie 2 years coming from Ridgewood, New Jersey.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Ridgewood, where she was active in the Catholic Daughters and the Rosary Altar Society. She was a volunteer at Valley Hospital, Ridgewood.

Survivors include daughters, Virginia Wissel of St. Augustine, Florida, Diane Polhemus of Stuart, Florida, Nancy Tooley of North Dartmouth, Massachusetts and Dorothy Rocks of Jenson Beach, Florida; a son, James Davis of Ridgewood, New Jersey; 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Davis, a son, Richard J. Davis; brothers, Peter and Robert Masterson and sisters, Margaret Lawrence and Constance Clark.

SERVICES: Visitation will be at the C. C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home, Ridgewood with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church followed by interment in Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, New Jersey. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Forest Hills Funeral Homes - Palm City Chapel.
