Obituary of Dorothea Gillis
DOROTHEA DORIS GILLIS
Age 88, of the Stuart and Palm City, Florida area died on November 26, 2007. Mrs. Gillis was born on July 22, 1919 in Bronx, New York to Joseph and Catherine Jacobi. She came to Florida in 1981 from Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. Mrs. Gillis was a graduate of the St. Marys School of Nursing in Passaic, NJ. She was of catholic faith and was a Eucharistic minister at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She also worked with audio books for the blind.
Survivors include a daughter Catherine (James) DeBow of Wayne, NJ, a son Howard J. II (Margaret) Gillis of Paeonian, Virginia, four grandchildren; James DeBow, Jr., Danielle ODonnell, Kristi Huff and Colleen Snow. Also surviving are four great grandchildren and a brother, George W. Jacobi of Richmond, VA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1454 Mapp Road, Palm City, FL. A visitation will be held at Forest Hills Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Forest Hills Funeral Home 2001 SW Murphy Road, Palm City, FL.
