Dorothy Amelia
Baker
January 22, 1945 – April 7, 2026
Dorothy Amelia Baker, age 81, of Port St.Lucie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, surrounded by the love of her family.
Dorothy was born and raised in Maryland, where she built a life defined by hard work and devotion to family. She proudly retired from the Prince George’s County court system before relocating to Florida to be closer to those she loved most. Dorothy found joy in the simple pleasures of life — spending time tending to her plants, driving around in her sports car, and savoring her favorite meal - blue crabs. These moments brought her peace and happiness and will forever remind her family of her warmth and gentle spirit. One of the things Dorothy’s family will miss most about her is hearing her say her favorite quotes “Oh, Come on!” and “Whatever!”
Dorothy is survived by her brother Willard Daniel Crosby and leaves behind her 2 children, Steven Kenneth Rogers and Tammy Lynn Rogers. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Nicole; Krystal; Alyssa; and Kelsey and a cherished great-grandmother to Emma; Maverick; and Zavier each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
A service celebrating Dorothy’s life will be held on Monday, April 20th at 11:30 a.m. at Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
