Obituary of Dorothy Banfield

Dorothy M. Banfield, 90, of Palm City, passed away March 26, 2009, at Hospice of the Treasure Coast. She was born in South Amboy, NJ. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, and she was the Queen of South Amboy and held the Key to South Amboy. She lived in South Amboy before moving to Long Beach Island. She then moved to South Florida, where she resided for 30 years. Dorothy was a member of the South Amboy First Aid, the Catholic Daughters of Court Santa Maria #382, the Deborah in New Jersey and Florida, the Palm City Civic Center, was a Past President of the Welcome Wagon and the women's Guild at Holy Redeemer and was a member of the Sunshine Club.

She is survived by daughters; Dr. Mary Ellen Brantley of Atlanta, GA, Frances Beshada of Holmdel, NJ, Dorothy Gaddon of Parlin, NJ and Judith Kross of South Amboy, NJ; brother, Joseph Besner of Ocala, FL; eight grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Henry J. Banfield, and her sister, Flourette.

A visitation will be 9:00AM - 10:30AM, Monday, March 30, 2009 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00AM, Monday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City.

Inurnment will take place at a later date.
