Obituary of Dorothy Blackburn
Dorothy Irene Blackburn, 90, of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at her home.
Born in Campbell, Missouri, she had been a resident of Fort Pierce coming from Stuart, Florida where she resided since 1979.
She was a member Southside Christian Church, Fort Pierce and was a former member of Bethel Baptist also in Fort Pierce. Her peach cobbler, one year, received a first place ribbon at the St. Lucie County Fair.
Survivors include her son, Ronald L. Blackburn and his wife Elizabeth of Albers, Illinois; her daughters, Barbara K. Clevinger, Judy E. Jones and her husband Ray, Ponda Goni and her husband Bill and her daughter-in-law Dottie Blackburn all of Fort Pierce; her brothers, Eugene Shelton of Bradenton, Florida, and Lloyd Shelton of Belleville, Illinois; her sisters, Shirley Dobler, Diane O'Dell and Lela Ruth Goodman all of Illinois; eight grand children, twenty-two great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Blackburn, daughter, Sharon R. Dodd, son James E. Blackburn, sister, Ponda Kivelham and brother, Basil Shelton.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Southside Christian Church, Edwards Road, Fort Pierce with a service at 12:00 PM. Interment will be private in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
